Alan
E. Neilson, founder and conductor of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra,
has been principal flutist with the North Carolina Symphony, Chicago
Opera Ballet, Goldovsky Opera Company, and Miami Symphony. Mr.
Neilson was Music Director at the Raleigh Little Theatre, Interim
Conductor of the UNC Orchestra and was the guest conductor with the
NC State University Symphony. Mr. Neilson is the 1995 recipient of
the Kathryn H. Wallace Artist Award presented by the Triangle
Community Foundation for artistic contribution to the Triangle
communities. He holds a Bachelor and Masters degrees in music from
the University of Tulsa, where he was a member of the Tulsa
Philharmonic. |
